Lingo game
A game derived from the TV show Lingo. A whiteboard or a slate, 3 markers of different colors, 6 attempts to find the right word !
A perfect game for events where you honor a person or a couple. A moment of shared memories where the people being honored reveal themselves in good humor.
The pitch for this activity is quite simple. Guests who wish to participate will have a spot in the room with a table, post-its, and a pencil. In the most concise way possible, a sentence is written on the post-it to help the honored person remember the moment being mentioned. The goal is to recall moments of happiness, good humor, or alternatively, a thorny and delicate situation or simply a memorable one.
All the post-its are collected in a box. When the time comes, the honored person or people will randomly pick a post-it from the box and read it aloud. The identity of the person who wrote the anecdote must be guessed. If not, they will eventually reveal themselves.
Once the person is identified, the anecdote is shared. It’s up to you to decide who tells the story…
Post-its and a pencil.
A few fundamental rules:
- The anecdotes should be concise whenever possible. They should fit on a post-it without having to write too small.
- It is always possible to ask participants to provide an anecdote before even coming to the event.
- When the honored persons are multiple, the anecdote or memory can be contextualized by mentioning the first name of the only person concerned. If not, it can contribute to making the exercise amusing. These people will look at each other saying, "No, this one is not for me... well, I think."
